Hustlers

Jennifer Lopez is an American actress, singer, and dancer. She began her career appearing in television shows, before landing her first major movie role in Selena (1997). Lopez went on to star in a number of successful films throughout the early and mid-2000s, including The Wedding Planner (2001), Maid in Manhattan (2002), and Monster-in-Law (2005). In 2007, she shifted her focus to music, releasing her eponymous fifth studio album and embarking on the Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Latin World Tour. Lopez subsequently starred in the reality television series Q'Viva! The Chosen (2012–13) alongside Anthony.

Lopez returned to film in 2014 with a starring role in the romantic comedy The Boy Next Door, which was a box office success. She subsequently starred in the films Home (2015) and Ice Age: Collision Course (2016). In 2017, Lopez appeared as a judge on NBC's competition series World of Dance before reprising her role in the film sequel Hustlers.

The reviews for Hustlers have been largely positive, with many critics praising the performances of Lopez and Constance Wu. The Guardian's review called Hustlers "a slick, funny and empathetic crime caper", while IndieWire's review stated that the film is "an entertaining heist movie that doubles as an empowering feminist tale".

The popular film reviews website, UK Film Review, gave Hustlers 4 Stars, with their film critic George Wolf saying of the film:

"It’s a wild, intoxicating high of girl power. And when it all comes crashing down, the moral ambiguities are scattered like dollar bills under the pole. As Ramona is quick to remind us, if there’s money being thrown, there will always be people ready to dance."

Lorene Scafaria is a filmmaker who has made a name for herself with films that focus on women and their stories. Her debut film, Seating Arrangements, was about a woman who returns to her childhood home for her father's funeral and has to deal with the family she left behind. This film was well-received by critics, with many praising Scafaria's skill in telling a powerful story about women.

Her next film was the 2012 comedy-drama Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. The film starred Michael Cera and Kat Dennings as two teenagers who are thrown together one night and end up falling in love. The film was praised for its strong performances and charming story.
